Crochet Placemat or Mug Mat
I recently made this placemat with a size 5mm Susan Bates crochet needle. Unfortunately, I have had the wool or yarn around for years that I can't remember the brand of it or size yarn.
I began making it with chain stitches. You can chain stitch to the size of placemat of your choice.
Approximates for this placemat.
Rows have one chain to start the next row of each row in turning.
50 chain stitches - White Wool
7 Single Crochet stitches rows - White Wool *
2 Single Crochet stitches rows - Rust Orange Wool
7 Single Crochet stitches rows - White Wool
2 Double Crochet stitches rows - White Wool
Repeat once accordingly from * rows.
Belows, photos are of two projects started several years ago with the same wool but never really finished them. The photos showing the point of finishing off but need to do the finishing touches. They have been sitting in a bin waiting for me to pick up again. I think I will challenge myself this week or very soon to do so. The challenge to do here, is to to go back and translate my pattern and the counts of stiches to making it. It has been so long ago. 🫶
